Let's Begin
Hey guys and girls, welcome to this tutorial on how to make this very cool leaf charm, inspired by the leaf hat Totoro wears in my My Neighbour Totoro
STEP 1: MAKING THE LEAF
Start by using your sharp scissors to cut the shape of the leaf out.
You’ll need two identical halves because we’ll be sewing them together later (See img.2).
Once you’ve cut your two identical pieces, pin them together like in the image (click on the arrows if you are not seeing it).
Now you are ready to start sewing.
STEP 2: SEWING
We’ll be using the basic running stitch.
Thread the needle, and bring the needle through the fabric from the back and out to the front.
Leave a small gap, and push it back down to the back of the material. That’s all there is to it!
Repeat until you’ve sewn around the leaf, but remember to leave a 1cm gap just before you reach the place you started sewing,
We’ll be connecting the key ring here.
STEP 3: ADDING THE KEYCHAIN
Next we’re going to add the keyring.
Once you have finished stitching the leaf, you’ll push the end of your keychain into the small gap you left earlier.
We’ll sew it in by stitching around it and through the loop of the key chain, working from one end to the other.
Tie a knot once the keychain has securely been fastened to to the leaves.
We hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as much as we enjoyed making it. Nekobara
