Game of the month

Ghost of Tsushima

In the year 1274, Japan faces invasion by the Mongol Empire on the island of Tsushima. As one of the few surviving samurai, you abandon traditional tactics and adopt the unconventional “Ghost” approach to combat the invaders and secure Japan’s freedom.

Ghost of Tsushima, a 2020 action-adventure game, follows Jin Sakai, a samurai protecting Tsushima Island from Mongol invaders. Players choose between honorably fighting or using stealth tactics as “the Ghost.” Inspired by samurai cinema and Usagi Yojimbo comics, the game’s combat and setting blend cultural authenticity with Shadow of the Colossus’ style. Sucker Punch Productions and PlayStation Studios present an open-world action adventure where you explore Tsushima’s hidden wonders, challenging foes with your katana, mastering the bow for ranged combat, employing stealth tactics for ambushes, and uncovering a new storyline on Iki Island. The Director’s Cut, featuring the Iki Island expansion, released in August 2021 for PS4 and PS5, with a Windows version by Nixxes Software due in May 2024. Praised for its combat, story, and music, Ghost of Tsushima became one of Sony’s best-selling titles, earning multiple award nominations and a film adaptation in progress.

The Director’s Cut Edition includes all previous content and introduces new features like the Iki Island expansion with a new story, mini-games, and enemy types, Legends online co-op mode, a digital mini art book, exclusive in-game items like the Charm of Hachiman’s Favor and Hero of Tsushima Skin Set, and director’s commentary providing insights into the game’s historical inspirations.
