Sauna Monkey Bans Silicone Ball Covers Over Hygiene Concerns

Nagoya’s Sauna Monkey recently announced a ban on silicone testicle covers in its bath and sauna areas, citing hygiene and customer comfort. The quirky update, shared on Twitter, clarified: “People don’t forget to take their testicles with them when they go home.”

The covers, designed to protect sensitive skin from hot benches, had sometimes been left behind on common racks, creating discomfort for other patrons. Management allows their use in private saunas if taken home afterward. Similar policies have emerged at Sauna Tokyo in Akasaka, so sauna-goers should check house rules before using protective ball cups.

Nara Deer Complaints Trigger Stress and New Harassment Measures

Nara Prefectural Government staff face mounting stress from nationwide complaints about alleged abuse of Nara’s iconic deer. Misinterpretations of viral videos showing foreigners interacting with deer have led to hours-long, abusive calls, prompting use of NTT Docomo Navidial for call management. Experts label this trend “customer harassment,” now addressed under Japan’s revised law requiring local governments and businesses to protect employees.

Public servants report burnout, isolation, and even resignations. Authorities urge callers to understand Nara Park’s history and sacred deer. Preventive measures, including departmental rules and automated systems, aim to safeguard employee mental health while maintaining the city’s unique wildlife culture.

What is interesting to observe is that these calls are nationwide, after people just watched YouTube videos about it and decided to make a call. Videos on YouTube can be misleading, especially with AI generated content.  The problem is the people are harassing the officials and preventing them from working, they aren’t actually reporting anything. One can imagine why the poor public servants being bombarded with nationwide calls suffer from report burnout and that some even resign.
