Top 5 Summer 2021 Roundup Takeshi
Sonny Boy (If you want to watch an anime that will keep you intrigued by a good mystery then this is the anime for you. A little slow burn but worth the watch)
Peach Boy Riverside (I enjoyed the whole dynamic about racism that is very prevalent in this anime and may get you thinking about real-world issues and has some excellent fight scenes. The bunny with black wings was a woah moment)
Megami-ryou no Ryoubo-kun. (Nice to watch a light-hearted anime that gives you a good laugh but be warned, it can be very ecchi in certain places but the ecchiness lends to the story and is well-timed. Wasn’t sure where this anime wanted to go at the beginning other than being a harem anime but ended up thoroughly enjoying it)
Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid (My go-to anime this season. Loved the storyline of the man who can kill just by touch and the love interest with his maid. The 3D may put some people off but comparing with other 3D animes this is one on the better side)
Vanitas no Carte (If you like vampires and mysteries then this is the anime for you. Has a good storyline and keeps you intrigued)
Honourable mention
Yami Shibai 9 (For fans of the Yami Shibai series. Never fails to absolutely scare the heck out of a person)
Baka list for the summer season
Uramichi Oniisan (I found the MC and concept of the series so boring and dull that I couldn’t even make the 3 episode rule for this series. If I had to meet this person in real life I wouldn’t give them 2 seconds of my time. This anime does appeal to a certain type of person as I have had great reviews from friends.)
Meikyuu Black Company (I would have enjoyed this anime if the MC was not so conceited and a good for nothing who only thinks about himself. The only redeeming factor he has is that no matter what bad situation is thrown at him he will persevere and come back stronger. Essentially Naruto but if Naruto was an arsehole and just straight out using the people around him)
2021 Summer Roundup Ookami
1 Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki (This anime’s vibe is great, a bit like a strategy anime like Log Horizon, where the main character must strategize to save a whole kingdom and the whole world.)
2 Peach Boy Riverside (A nice spin on the Peach Boy folklore tales of Japan. For some reason, I fell in love with the character Frau’s mindset. She is loyal and has a lot of heart. The battle scenes in this anime are super awesome.)
3 Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu (The gamer in me likes this series because it reminds me a little of that old Nintendo game, Breath of Fire. I like the character building, especially the two female leads, whose rivalry/friendship brings a lot of humour to the anime)
4 Cheat Kusushi no Slow Life Isekai ni Tsukurou Drugstore (Cutesy and fun. The werewolf girl totally steals the show with her kawaii craziness. It is also interesting what recipe the pharmacist is going to cook up next to solve problems.)
5 Fumetsu no Anata e (A beautiful anime that hits deep and is dark and light on many levels. Fushi trying to stay a good person when faced with so much darkness is one of the themes of the show I like. The battles are also interesting especially where our hero fights the Nokkers.)
Honourable mention
100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru (The second season is as dark and interesting as the first season. The way they change classes is in a slight way reminiscent of the games Dungeon Siege and Final Fantasy 5, and makes fr interesting dynamics in the battles)
Re Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (it was recommended to me and I shuffled through both seasons and fell in love with the story. Poor Subaru dies more times in the anime than Kenny in South Park, perhaps, but he always finds a way to deliver and save the people he loves.)
