Recommendations for the coming season
The anime tells the tale of Asta and Yuno, raised together at the same orphanage in the Clover Kingdom. It is a world where everyone has magical powers, the exception is Asta who has none but his friend Yuno is a magical prodigy. The story follows them both trying to become the Wizard King.
Dies Irae features an alternate history of World War II. Berlin, May 1st, 1945, the Red Army of Russia raises the Soviet flag over the Reichskanzlei. A group of Nazi officials performs an occult ritual, the burning city of Berlin, and the perfect sacrifice to summon the Order of the 13 Lances, a group of supermen capable to bring the world to destruction. Did they succeed, for years no one knew if they did and those who knew passed away…
An anime that follows the personal lives as well as musical careers of several bands under the wing of the ‘Dynamic Chord” music label agency. The Otome Game’s voice cast returned to do the anime voice-overs as well as the songs. Expect anime bands like Liar-S, KYOHSO, and apple-polisher to swoon you with their vocal talents.
Emi is a girl that uses a pencil that grants any gift. She gets caught up in a life-endangering robbery or a konbini (Convenience store). She uses her pencil to wish for a ‘hero that can save everybody’ and four heroes appear! That is what happened in the manga but the anime’s story will be different from the manga.
Inuyashiki tells the tale of a middle-aged man that accidentally becomes a cyborg superhero (played by Fumiyo Kohinata) who will face a psychopathic teenager villain (played by Nijirô Murakami).
12 warriors, burdened with the names of the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs (“Rat,” “Ox,” “Tiger,” “Rabbit,” “Dragon,” “Snake,” “Horse,” “Goat,” Monkey,” “Rooster,” “Dog,” and “Pig.”) fight with each other’s lives and pride at stake, all to grant just one wish. Who will be the last one standing? Whose tears and blood will flow in the battlefield filled with conspiracy and murder? Prepare for a harrowing battle royale with only one victor, one wish in its wake!
In a youkai village, we look at the lives of several fox spirits working at an onsen (hot spring) inn and focus especially on the new employee, Yuza. Yuza, used to live in the mountains must now cope in an environment of a high-class inn. As is usual, at the start of our story she is clumsy, but as she brims with cuteness, it makes her able to get along with the other foxes.
Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World – The Animated Series
Meet the young adventurer Kino. She rides a talking motorcycle named Hermes and they explore the cultures and people of different places on their travels, which they meet the three days they stay at each location.
Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou
Cito and Yuuri are still alive in a world where civilization died. They wander aimlessly through the ruins of the world with only their beloved Kettenkrad motorbike as transport, living day-by-day wondering if their next meal will be their last. While they have each other, the world is less bleak. Will they find something to live for in a world filled with nothing?
It tells the tale of two girls who enter the competitive world of motorcycle sidecar racing. Girlish, slender Yuki is the driver that controls the accelerator and brake, the daughter of a family that runs a guesthouse and the boyish and impulsive Megumi uses her acrobatic skills and body weight to handle the corner work. Her family runs an inn. Our two heroines will battle it out on the racing tracks with other motorcycle sidecar teams from all over Japan.
There is a ton of anime this season that promises to be entertaining. We also have four more suggestions. Dia Horizon, Evil or Live, Garo: Vanishing Line and RoboMasters the Animated Series. Be sure to look them up when released, it may just be the anime for you this season.
Anime that AnimeFanatika watched last season
The past spring season gave us quite a few great anime series. As usual, The AF team had difficulty to choose their top five anime series for the past spring season.
Takeshi’s list: Gamers!, Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni, Isekai Shokudou (Ookami agrees, this season was supasugoi!!!!). Aho Girl (according to Takeshi it is the most violent funny anime he’s ever watched) and Ballroom e Youkoso. Takeshi also wishes to share the next honourable mentions: The Reflection, 18f and Boku no Hero Academia Second Season.
Ookami’s List: Knight’s & Magic, Made in Abyss (Takeshi wholeheartedly agrees with Ookami), Vatican Kiseki Chousakan (Ookami thinks that it is a creepy anime answer to the Exorcist and Stigmata movies), Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou and Castlevania. Ookami also wants to share the following honourable mentions: Jigoku Shoujo: Yoi no Togi and Sagrada Reset (The mystery and strategy in the anime were brilliant, he says).
Takeshi and Ookami also decided to put the Deathnote live-action movie released by Netflix on our Bakalist. It is a waste of money and time in your life you won’t get back. This is just AnimeFanatika’s view, so readers must take this under advisement, please.
