Nendoroid Kirito

Nendoroid Kirito (Sword Art Online)

Kirito gets cutesified

Main protagonist of the anime Sword Art Online Kirito has a huge fan base. Chosen as one of the thousand beta testers for the closed beta of Sword Art Online, the first ever VRMMORPG for the NerveGear, he became trapped in the game and worked hard to find a way to escape it. His real name is Kirigaya Kazuto (he shortened it to Kirito to use it as his gaming name) but we know him as Kirito. A man of few words, He is an absolute gaming genius. He prefers to be a ‘solo player’ (Not belonging to any guild in-game). During the series Sword Art Online we see how he selflessly goes out of his way to save people, especially after the happenings in the game Sword Art Online.

Kirito & Asuna

Kirito & Asuna

Overall: A serious 7.75

Paint Job – 9
Fantastic paint job. The coat really looks smashing with the exceptional work the painter did.

Sculpting – 6
The sculpting is not bad, but he is a very thin character and the Nendoroid gives Kirito a slight beer belly. Now it is true Nendoroids all look a bit warped but the figurine lost a bit of that Kirito magic.

Design – 9
The design itself is not bad. The kawaii version of everybody’s favourite gamer-swordsman are well designed, and aren’t those cute little swords just adorable?

Display Worth – 7
Depending on if you like a ‘beer-bellied Kirito’ it is actually not bad and well worth to display in any collection.

Male Nendoroids are always nice to see, but seeing a warrior such as Kirito transformed into a kawaii version feels a bit strange doesn’t it? Kirito can be quite bad-ass with his blades and in this cute version of him, it brings a whole new feel. That being said, despite an issue with this Kirito’s belly it is nice to see a Nendoroid version of him, and the fact that there is an Asuna Nendoroid that you can buy to keep him company is super sugoi.
