Buta is Japanese for pig
In today’s Bento we share news on upcoming April anime series Kuma Miko and Flying Witch, share a prank with you, we look at a yummy Ginger Pork Saute recipe and share a P-chan character profile. In Japanese the word for pig is ‘Buta’ but if you want to say ’eating like a pig’ you actually say ‘Gatsu gatsu!’ Some of you may remember anime with pig characters like Oolong from Dragon Ball, Ryoga (or P-chan) from Ranma ½ and Tonton from the Naruto anime. On Tuesday details on Kuma Miko’s Theme songs were revealed. Maki Hanatani will perform the opening theme entitled ‘Datte, Gyutte-shite’ and the ending theme ‘KUMAMIKO DANCING’ will be performed by Natsumi Hioka and Hiroki Yasumoto who are members of the Kuma Miko cast.
The original manga follows a shrine maiden named Machi, from a rural town, that serves at a Shinto bear shrine. Her guardian is a talking bear named Natsu. She expresses her desire to go to school in the city and Natsu decides to help her to get ready to urban life.
The anime’s cast includes Natsumi Hioka (Witch Craft Works) as Machi Amayadori, Hiroki Yasumoto (Bleach) as Natsu Kumai, Kazuyuki Okitsu (Prison School) as Yoshio Amayadori, and Eri Kitamura (Durarara!!×2) as Hibiki Sakata. The anime is directed by Kiyoshi Matsuda (Durarara!!), and joined by Pierre Sugiura (Barakamon) and Masao Iketani who is writing the scripts, and Hiroyuki Saida is the character designer and chief animation director. Kuma Miko is due to premiere in April.

Flying Witch’s trailer is now online. The video reveals that the anime is set to start on April 9th and it also showcases some of the characters and the setting of the anime.The anime is based on the manga by Chihiro Ichizuka.
The official trailer for Flying Witch, an upcoming TV anime about a somewhat directionless young lady who moves to the Aomori countryside to continue her magical studies, is now available online. The trailer shows off the principal characters and the bucolic setting. The cast includes Minami Shinoda, Eri Suzuki, and Shinsuke Sugawara.
The Flying Witch TV series is directed by Katsushi Sakurabi (Lunar Legend Tsukihime) and written by Deko Akao (Arakawa Under the Bridge), Masato Yasuno (Little Busters!) is character Designer. Flying Witch features animation by J.C. Staff (Prison School).
The anime synopsis is as follows: Makoto Kowata, 15 years old, and a professional witch, leaves Yokohama with Chito, her black cat, to live in the house of her relatives, which include her second cousins Kei and Chinatsu, in Aomori. Here she begins to train as a witch.

P-chan (or is that Charlotte, Pork Chop or Mister P???) is a much-loved character from Ranma ½, a young man that is often transformed into a buta (pig). Instead of telling you about the cute little buta, we are sharing a fun video all about him!
