News on the Accel World movie and other anime
In this edition of the Preview Bento we celebrate the 200th episode of the anime Folktales from Japan, look at the upcoming Accel World: Infinite Burst movie, take a peek at the new Mob Psycho 100 anime series and feast our eye on a delicious Sweet Potato recipe. Itadakimasu Minna!
Folktales from Japan
We all have folk tales. From Antjie Somers and Brolloks and Bittergal (Afrikaans Folk Tales) to Red Riding Hood and Blue Beard every culture has a rich treasure trove of stories that has been handed down from mother or grandmother to child for centuries. Folk Tales have the magic to teach children to see the good and bad in life and also teach them moral values, be it delivered with a dark twist sometimes. Japan is no exception, also boasting with a super sugoi selection of folktales.
The anime Folk Tales from Japan released its 200th episode this week. There are tales such as that of the boy born from a peach, the Wife who wouldn’t eat, the moon princess that is discovered inside a bamboo, etc. Each episode is about 30 minutes long, containing three stories inside. It is a great way to explore the rich folklore of the Japanese people while having fun.

Accel World: Infinite Burst
We previously shared that an anime movie, Accel World: Infinite Burst, based on the light novels by Reki Kawahara (Sword Art Online) was announced at the Dengeki Bunk Autumn Festival 2015 event and that Kawahara is writing the story for the series which will feature new characters.
Well, a release date has been confirmed. The 48th volume of Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko Magazine revealed on Wednesday that the movie is slated to premiere on July 23rd in Tokyo theaters.
It has also been confirmed that some of the cast will be returning. The returning staff and cast include Reki Kawahara, which is the original creator of Accel World, in the director’s seat we have Masakazu Obara while Yukiko Aikei is responsible for character design as well as animation director. Voice Actors includes Sachika Misawa as Kuroyukihime, Yuuki Kaji as Haruyuki, Aki Toyosaki as Chiyuri and Shintarō Asanuma as Takumu.

Mob Psycho 100
At last, we can get a first look at Mob Psycho 100, an anime adaptation based on the manga by ONE who also gave us One-Punch Man. Mob Psycho 100 tells the tale of Kageyama Shigeo, an average middle school boy nicknamed Mob (Which means John Doe) thanks to the fact that he does not stand out amongst people. He actually keeps a low profile because he learned that he is a powerful esper and his powers will go wildly out of control when his emotional capacity reaches 100%. Fighting his own psychic powers, he lives under self-induced emotional shackles, wishing he could live like others, but there are always problems. As the suppressed emotions grow inside him little by little, will his power on day burst free and create havoc? We will soon find out!
Mob Psycho 100 is directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa (Death Parade), the series script is by Hiroshi Seko (Ajin) character design is supervised by Yoshimichi Kameda One-Punch Man). The sound director is Kazuhiro Wakabayashi (Eureka Seven). The cast includes Setsuo Ito as anime protagonist, Kageyama “Mob” Shigeo and. Takahiro Sakurai will take on Reigen Arataka, Mob’s psychic mentor. Mob Psycho 100 is slated to be released later this year, and as we find out when we will let our readers know.

Sweet Potato Kintsuba Recipe
If you love sweet potatoes then maybe you will enjoy this Japanese recipe. The adorable O bāchan (Granny) and her poodle Francis are back to teach us how to prepare this yummy treat.
The ingredients are:
200g Japanese Sweet Potatoes (7.1 oz)
3 tbsp Sugar
A pinch of Salt
5g Shiratamako or Mochiko, sticky/sweet rice flour (0.2 oz)
20g Cake Flour (0.7 oz)
40ml Water (1.4 fl oz)
A pinch of Salt
Toasted Black Sesame Seeds
