Two new anime series are coming in October: Concrete Revolutio Chojin Genso (Concrete Revolutio – Superhero Fantasy) and Onsen Yosei Hakone-chan.
Concrete Revolutio Chojin Genso is made by Studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy) and Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist) will direct it. Some of its cast will include Kaito Ishikawa, Sumire Uesaka and Aki Toyosaki and this anime will run for half a year.
So far it seems the story plays off in Tokyo, which is brimming over with superheroes, each with his or her own origin story. Some were altered by evil organizations (makes one think of the Justice Inc story-line in the comic series 52 by DC comics) some came from outer space (anyone sees Superman and Martian Manhunter here?) some are from magical worlds (like Amethyst, also from DC Comics), some were fairies in ancient times (Sandman, The Dreaming?), some are robots build by scientists (Red Tornado) the list is endless and sounds like a Justice League of America-type theme! Then there is the government that is paranoid about these superheroes, like in the X-men comic. This series seem as if avid comic readers will have a lot of fun watching this.
Our second series Onsen Yosei Hakone-chan is a supernatural comedy manga that tells us the story of an ancient spirit that awakens as a young girl in modern Japan. It will run for 13 episodes in October and is based on the manga by Daisuke Yui. Takeyuki Yanase, and is a joined production of Asahi Poductions and Production Reed direct it.
Speaking of Onsen, look out for our article on onsen that will be up on Friday the 10th!
