It is always nice to see when an anime classic gets attention. Within the week two trailers started screening on Funimation’s official YouTube channel for the new English dub of the classic The Vision of Escaflowne (or Escaflowne for short) anime series and movie. Funimation will release a Blu-ray collector’s edition that includes both the series and movie as well as of the movie and both halves of the series, and the release date is October the 18th.

Escaflowne tells the tale of Hitomi, a high school athlete that is transported from Earth to the fantastic world Gaea where she meets the young prince Van Fanel and becomes part of his quest to unite the countries of Gaea against the Zaibach Empire. It is a fantasy but also magic-slash-mecha series where we learn interesting secrets about Vans’s family and also get to see the giant machine Escaflowne in battle. The Escaflowne anime series aired in Japan in 1996.

The two trailers are not available in many countries but we have the old English dub trailer for those who would like to see a bit of the anime. Please follow our link: http://bit.ly/Vision-of-Escaflowne-English-Trailer
