When Shonen Jump double issue 36 & 37 revealed that there would be a Bleach-related announcement on August the 22nd (in the 38th issue), a lot of theories about what that announcement may be. Most Bleach fanatiks hoped for an anime reboot or continuation of the anime series that stopped in 2012 on its 366th episode. Now it has been confirmed that the 38th issue of Shonen Jump will not announce a series continuation or reboot; instead, a live-action movie is to be announced.
The live-action movie is scheduled for 2018 and already the director’s seat is kept warm for Shinsuke Sato (Gantz live-action movies). Also revealed is that Sōta Fukushi (live-action Kami-sama no Iu Toori) will star in the movie as Ichigo Kurosaki. Bleach fans hoping for a reboot or a continuation of the anime should not loose hope. No one thought that the D.Grayman anime would return and it did, anything can happen in the world of anime.
