Fanatik about Fullmetal Alchemist or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? We have exciting news for you. Warner Brothers announced officially on Tuesday that a live-action version of the hit series and manga is being worked on and they plan to let the movie premiere in the winter of 2017. Filming is to start in June, in Italy and is expected to wrap up in Japan in August.

An impressive list of names was dropped of actors starring in the movie like Ryōsuke Yamada who played Assassination Classroom’s Nagisa as Edward Elric and Tsubasa Honda (Blue Spring Ride) as Winry Rockbell.

Here is a breakdown of the story from the anime FullMetal Alchemist: Through the arcane science of alchemy, two brothers try to resurrect their dead mother. But something goes wrong, and the resurrection fails, exacting a high price on the brothers. Edward Elric loses his entire right arm and part of his left leg but his little brother Alphonse, nearly dies but is plucked from death as Edward desperately fuses his brother’s soul to a suit of armor with alchemy before passing out. Alphonse takes his body to their adoptive family, the Rockbells who happens to be prosthetic (called automail in this world) experts, who fit Edward with automail limbs.

They set out on a journey, after recovering and learning more on alchemy at a special academy, to become State Alchemists, which will help Edward to do research as he aims to get their bodies back through alchemical means. When we enter the story they are looking for an artifact called the philosopher’s stone, the first step into a great adventure.

The Fullmetal Alchemist anime premiered in 2003, followed by the movie Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie – Conqueror of Shamballa in 2005. A second anime series, more closed to the manga Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, premiered in 2009 with a spin-off anime movie, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos which were released in 2011. The official website for the live-action adaptation of Wolf Girl & Black Prince started streaming a ‘special’ 16-minute ‘behind-the-scenes’ video on Wednesday. You may remember the anime. The anime centers on Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year-old that keeps boasting to her friends about her romantic life, while in truth is she very single. But she finds out soon that Sata is not as sweet as he looks in his photo, that he is a sadistic black-hearted fiend that will take advantage of her weaknesses.

The ‘behind-the-scenes’ video starts with a synopsis of the movie’s story, followed by an introduction of the characters and then an interview with Fumi Nikaidō (who plays Erika Shinohara) and Kento Yamazaki (Who plays Kyōya Sata). It also includes the filming of various scenes. Tempura

Tempura

Tempura

In episode 2 of the anime, Flying Witch that is currently showing in Japan the characters decide to make Bakke Tempura. That episode inspired us to share a video on tempura with our fellow Fanatiks. Tempura is a dish of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep-fried. The secret of tempura is that the vegetables are used fresh and that the batter causes the vegetable to become cooked through a steaming process when the tempura is dipped into the warm oil. It locks the yummy flavours into the dish superbly.
