We bring you good news and bad news. First up is a promising new anime named Luger Code + set to premiere later this year and then we also look at the bad news, things look dire for World Trigger…
Luger Code +
According to Shounen Jump+ magazine the manga series Luger Code + is going to be adapted to anime and will be released this year’s fall anime season. The manga is the work of writer Haruto Haneki and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki. The manga ran for three chapters.
The Luger Code + anime is being produced by Studio Deen, The anime’s director is Shinya Takahashi and the script writer is Katsuhiko Takayama while Hirofumi Morimoto is responsible for the Character Designs. So far the first person cast for the anime is Takuya Eguchi who is playing Alex Rossa.
The anime’s plot focuses on a young linguistic genius-slash-university-professor named Testa who is introduced by his senior, Sergeant Rossa to the Allied Cryptanalysis Department. His task: to decode the enemy werewolves’ code that they are using to encrypt their radio transmissions with. Testa is having a hell of a time, since the only sound the transmission produces is the howling of a wolf. Finding no luck he decides to capture a werewolf for a better cryptanalysis, and that is how he meets female werewolf Yonaga.
It seems that the broadcasting of World Trigger has hit a major hiccup. TV Asahi announced recently in a presentation of its April 2016 changes that it would launch a live Sports Sunday program on Sundays from 6:30 to 7:00 am. TV Asahi has been airing anime in this time slot since 2000 and now it affects World Trigger, which currently airs in this slot.
TV Asahi’s Sunday morning anime block began in 2000 as local programming in the Kanto region. It featured re-runs of Sailor Moon, eventually expanding to TV Asahi’s other regions by 2011. Other shows that have aired in this time slot include such anime as Digimon Xros Wars – The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time, Saint Seiya Omega, as well as Rowdy Sumo Wrestler Matsutaro. TV Asahi and Toei Animation (The studio responsible for World Trigger) has not announced World Trigger’s fate. What will happen to World Trigger when Sports Sunday takes over?
For those that have not seen the anime World Trigger yet, here is AnimeFanatika’s spin on the plot: Our story is set in Mikado City where a gate to a different world opened one day. Monsters appeared from it called Neighbors and a fight between them and humans started, with humans not doing so good in the battle. A mysterious group started battling these Neighbors called the Border Defense Agency, making the city safer for all the humans. Four and a half years later a young humanoid Neighbor, Yuma Kuga slips through the gate and befriends a border agent named Osamu Mikumo. The anime World Trigger tells their story.
The World Trigger manga by Daisuke Ashihara debuted in 2013’s 11th issue of Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. World Trigger premiered in October 2014.
