Koala, from slave to revolutionary

Charaben Koala

Koala – P.O.P. Portrait of Pirates Sailing Again

Koala we first met in Episode 541 of One Piece. She was a former slave, set free by Fisher Tiger’s frenzy on Mariejois. Thereafter she sailed with the Sun Pirates to reach her hometown. Later she became the Fisherman Karate assistant instructor of the Revolutionary Army, working with Sabo. She currently made her reappearance to the One Piece anime in the Dressrosa Arc. She is the first non-fishman that is known to us who are able to use Fishman Karate

The Koala figurine is very sexy and colorful. She has an hourglass figure, is well-endowed and beautifully curved. She looks kawaii, and her outfit enhances that with the crimson newsboy cap with gold goggles on her head, a frilly pink-coloured shirt, a maroon short skirt and black thigh-high stockings with brown boots.
With the figurine, you get a display stand and additional parts which includes the newsboy cap, a black top hat and two extra arms (one to hold the top hat and one to hold the Den Den Mushi).

Overall: A reluctant 8

Paint Job – 9
The paint job is not bad, excellent shading especially the shading on the Den Den Mushi, which shows the painter gave loves his work.

Sculpting – 9
The sculpting is very detailed; the level of workmanship is admirable. The quality and the detail show the care they invested into the creation of the Koala figurine.

Design – 6
She is close to perfect and we love the extra parts like the arm holding the Den Den Mushi, and the arm to hold the top hat. The design has one flaw. The top hat accessory does not fit the head. It is a shame because everything else is top-notch. We are forced to take points off here. Fair is fair.

Display Worth – 8
The figurine will look nice next to Sabo in a display case. However, the hat not fitting to her head is a little issue since it would have made a nice touch.

Why do we give this figurine a reluctant 8 you ask? Well we don’t want to give her lower since the paint job and sculpting is undeniably near perfect, but the design team should have maybe either left the top hat out or made the size to fit her head. It is not a bad figurine and worth in any collection despite the problem with the top hat.
