Kaneki Ken, Half Ghoul, Half Human, the dark hero of Tokyo

Charaben Kaneki Ken Awakened Edition

Ken Kaneki – ARTFX J – Awakened Version (with additional head part)

Ken Kaneki is an artificial One-eyed Ghoul. He is the rising star hero of the anime Tokyo Ghoul. He turned into a ghoul because ghoul organs were transplanted into his body after an operation. Both ghoul and human, he struggles to keep his ghoul identity secret, always fighting against his ghoul side while trying to continue to live like a normal human. Luckily. He learned how to be a ghoul after joining Anteiku as a part-time waiter. He first appeared in the Tokyo Ghoul manga chapter 1 and in the anime in episode 1.

Kaneki Ken

Kaneki Ken

With the additional head, we have the power to transform the way he looks. Even his normal face has a sense of the darkness poor Kaneki lives with every day. His pose is as if he is warning Ghoul and human alike to beware… Kaneki stands on a rubble base, ready for battle in his ghoul mask with his kagune (which is the form of four thick, tongue-like tentacles protruding from his back), poised for battle.

Overall: A well-deserved 9 out of 10

Paint Job – 10
One of the best paint jobs I have seen on a figurine so far, the work of a master. The red veins at the eyes look super freaky!

Sculpting – 9
The sculptor really did not let any detail slip here; it is impressive and highly detailed work. From the tears in his shirt to the kinetics of his body it is a job well done.

Design – 8
The design is super sugoi, but I wonder if a more intimidating pose wouldn’t have been better.

Display Worth – 9
Everyone that is everyone would love to have this. It deserves to be in every Tokyo Ghoul fan’s collection

Verdict

With the second head that can give Iron Maiden’s mascot Eddie a run for his money, this figurine is a must have. Not just because it is Kaneki Ken but also because it is a piece of art. This is most definitely a figurine that is a must have item in any horror anime or Tokyo Ghoul fanatik’s collection. Better get one before the ghouls come looking for you.
