Mamoru Hosoda’s Bakemono no Ko news!

Some of you may ask ‘Hey, who is Mamoru Hosoda?’

Well, he is the director of brilliant anime movies like Summer Wars (2009), Wolf Children (2012) and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006), three great movies that is a must-see to any anime fanatic. His Wolf Children movie especially had a big following and many of us who have seen it, just want to watch the movie again if we just hear its name. But Hosoda is also the director of the two Digimon Adventure movies Digimon: The Movie – Eight Years Ago and Digimon: The Movie – Four Years Later and he worked on the One Piece movie One Piece: Barom Omatsuri and the Secret Island. Chances are you have seen some of his work before.

We have mentioned last year in December that he is making a new movie named Bakemono no Ko (The Boy and the Beast).

The movie is an original story and screenplay set in two worlds: Shibuya, Japan as well as Jutengai, the bakemono’s world. It is about a boy that strays into the world of beasts and encounter Kumatetsu, a bear-like swordsman. He becomes the swordsman’s apprentice and Kumatetsu names him Kyuta. The movie is about Kyuta’s training as well as his adventures with Kumatetsu.
